Help the Red Cross and your local parks

Last year a Born Learning Trail was installed in Smith Park, Middletown, Ohio. A Born Learning Trail consists of 10 signs along a paved path located inside a city or country park. As you walk along the path, the signs provide tips for early learning. Some signs encourage children to talk about letters and shapes they see painted on the walk, while other signs point out how adults can talk with children about nature and things in their surroundings.

In 2009, the United Way of Greater Cincinnati – Middletown Area would like to install Born Learning Trails in city parks in Monroe and Trenton.

How Can You Help?

We need 2 or 3 people to:
@Chalk stencils on pavement near appropriate signs
@Remove stencil, connect the dots with chalk, and paint the shape inside the chalk lines
@We will provide you all of the tools needed (stencils, chalk, paint and paintbrushes).
@Last year, at Smith Park, it took two people 3 hours to complete.

If you are interested in helping build the Born Learning Trail, please contact me. We are hoping to be able to start the 3rd week of July.

Thank you!
